A licensed technician since 1984, Dave grew up in the automotive business, starting off washing Post Office trucks at his father's Shell gas station when he was 9 years old. He started his apprenticeship at Civic Motors in 1979. From 1982-1990 he worked with his father at Merivale Service Center; he also had a brief stint as a Shell dealer before leaving to open Parker Auto Care in late 1990. Dave currently holds full 310s and 310t Automotive Service Technician qualifications as well as a NIASE Master Technicians certificate. He is also licensed by OMVIC to buy and sell used cars and holds a valid Ozone Depleting Substance card. You'll find Dave at the front counter booking appointments and organizing the staff all day, every day.
Jonny has been around this business since the beginning. Having his picture taken in our first service truck back in 1993. Chances are that if you call during the tire season or are looking for a used car, he will be your contact here. Jonny works Monday to Friday, open to close. He has stepped up to take a managerial role in the business and can be found at our front counter, pricing tires, and answering phones, all while juggling work life and being a family man.
Ryan started here as an apprentice more than 20 years ago and has been a key member of our group ever since then, he has been a licensed technician since completing his apprenticeship here in 2013. He can be found here Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from open to close…
Dan joined the staff here in 2003, and finished the final leg of his apprenticeship at Parker Auto Care, earning his 310s qualifications in 2005. He spends most of his time on longer, more tedious jobs, such as clutches and head gaskets. Other interests include Football (soccer to us North Americans). Dan can be found in the shop from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Matt is the most recent addition to come out of the Ottawa Carleton Separate School Board's Co-operative Education Program. He joined our staff in 2003 as a shop helper and has worked his way through to the end of his apprenticeship. Matt performs a variety of different tasks in the shop, from tires to engine replacements, clutches, and electrical work. Matt has completed all of his hours and is now a certified technician. Claim to Fame: While in grade 1, Matt completed an art project about what item he would like to have 100 of and what he would do with them. Matt said, "If I had a hundred donuts I would sit and eat them all". Funny how some things never change. You can find Matt in the shop from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Jack is the most recent addition to our service staff. In keeping with our philosophy of on the job training, Jack came to us from Canadian Tire, where he started his apprenticeship. He will continue his training both in school and on the floor as a member of our team. We hope to see Jack gain his full qualifications sometime in 2020-2021.
Greg joined us at the front counter in March 2020 fresh off the sales force at a local Toyota dealer, he assists at the front counter, answers phone calls, does estimates, and contacts customers. Greg also handles our used car sales and purchasing. He has a well-rounded set of skills that have improved our ability to serve customers. He is a proud dad who is active in the community as a football coach. You can find Greg at the front counter from Monday to Friday 8-5.
Darian joined us in March 2020 after a brief stint in the service department at Kanata Honda, he is a first-year apprentice who is being trained in Road Force balancing and Alignment skills, Darian will continue his schooling and practical experience on the shop floor at Parker Auto Care.
Darrin returned to us this year after being away for 20 years, he originally worked for us at Clyde Avenue in the early 90s. Darrin is a 25 plus years licensed technician who specializes in larger jobs, engines, transmission replacements welding, and fabrication. He has skills that are no longer taught in trade school and has brought them to us. It's good to have him back.
