Relay For Life

To our friends and customers...

Each year Parker Auto Care participates in fundraising efforts to support the Canadian Cancer Society and The Ottawa Regional cancer Unit. For the past 3 years part of our fundraising has been by active participation in the Stittsville version of the Relay for Life, one of the only cancer fundraising events that is run entirely by volunteers. The relay is a non-competitive overnight walk in which the participants solicit donations from sponsors. My wife Shannon is the captain of our team the Cancer Crushers, and over the last 2 years we have, with the help of our teammates and friends, raised over 12000.00 for the Cancer Society. As you know cancer research fundraising is always an ongoing effort, and this year is no exception, we are gearing up for this year’s relay which takes place in June.

Some of you may have visited our Customer Appreciation day and car show last August 8th. The barbeque we ran at our back lawn started off our 2010 fundraising effort with 600.00 for the team. It's a great start but we need more.

Another way you can help out is by purchasing a copy of the Tickled Pink Cookbook, which is available at the shop or from the website below. It's a compilation of recipes put together by one of our good friends and customers, Shelly Courneya, who along with her husband Carl are 2 of the most dedicated and commited fundraisers I know. The book sells for 25.00, with all the proceeds to charity.
